About Bergstrom Electric

Al and Eva Bergstrom started Bergstrom Electric in 1964 doing small electrical projects for residential buildings out of their garage. Now, over 50 years later, we have offices in six different communities, staffed with over 140 employees and we produce over $27 million in electrical contracting services every year.

We are committed to high quality work, on time and on budget. Most importantly, we emphasize safety in all our jobs.

Bergstrom Electric has been involved in some of the largest projects in our area and we pride ourselves in being a high quality contractor and subcontractor.

Bergstrom is a member of numerous organizations including:

  • North Dakota Electrical Association
  • Minnesota Electrical Association
  • Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC)
  • Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC)
  • North Dakota Safety Council, Inc.
  • Builders and Traders Associations of Grand Forks and Fargo, and the Chambers of Commerce in most of the communities in which we have offices.

We offer services for Commercial, Educational, Healthcare, Industrial, Institutional and Residential

Bergstrom Electric is a full-service electrical contractor, providing design/build, electrical design, and project management services as well as all electrical construction projects from small lighting retrofits to multi-million dollar new construction. We are the largest firm in the Grand Forks area and also have offices across North Dakota and in northwest Minnesota.

Our work has earned regional and national awards for many years and our customer service is second to none.

Bergstrom Electric is proud to be employee-owned and a leader in safety. Our former clients and other construction professionals can attest to our dedication to the project. We will do whatever is necessary to get the job done right, whether it is a multi-million new construction project or a kitchen remodel.

We invite you to take a look at our previous work and give us a call if you have questions about a project you are considering. We would be happy to help you make it a reality.

Safety: A Priority at Bergstrom Electric

Bergstrom Electric has developed an extensive safety program that provides training and support for all its employees. We provide a safe working environment for our employees and the general public on all jobs, all the time. It is our responsibility to make sure our employees return home safe and sound at the end of each work shift and that requires constant diligence and consistent training for all our personnel.

Bergstrom has been recognized as a leader in safety by their industry every year for more than 20 years. The includes either a Silver, Gold, or Platinum Level Safety "STEP" Award (Safety Training and Evaluation Process) every year.

Bergstrom has also received the Grand Achievement award through the Spark Achievement Program developed by the National Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC) Safety Committee for exceptional commitment to safety on the job and dedication to helping maintain an accident-free workplace.

These recognitions are achieved by an extensive program that includes:

  • 4 hour safety orientations for each new employee, where all safety programs are reviewed before they start on a job.
  • Personal protective equipment supplied to each employee by Bergstrom
  • "Tool Box Safety Talks" conducted each week on all sites.
  • CPR and First Aid training for all employees
  • Specialty training, including 10-hour OSHA training, heavy equipment operation, lockout/tagout training, working in confined spaces, fall protection, fire-stop caulking, specialized equipment, and more.

Bergstrom Electric maintains a Drug-Free workplace and participates in a random drug test screening program that insures a safe working environment for all.
